A short story

In the middle of a huge desert, there was a man, bushed by life. He was walking aimlessly towards nothing. The hot sand ran in all directions with nowhere to reach. There was nothing to eat and drink. The man, after walking for some time, sat down on the hot sand. He removed his shirt and kept his back on the hot sand. His body started burning. His eyes showed his pain, but he didn’t move. He absorbed all his pain and kept staring at the sun. His long beard was wet because of sweat. His breath could be heard running fast. In some time, the pain was gone. A bright smile started dancing on his face. From below his feet, water started coming up, towards his upper body. Soon he was inside the water floating aimlessly. In few minutes, his body was on the seashore covered with sand. His shirt was floating at the top of the sea. He looked at his shirt and smiled. On one side of the shore, there was a flask filled with dry sand. He poured sea water in the flask and walked away from the shore.

  1. Wow, this is very nicely penned. 🌼 Though, I didn’t get the meaning behind the last line about pouring water into the flask, what did that gesture signify? Please let me know. 😄

    1. The man had no aim. He was in pain. But he absorbed the pain and the pain was gone. He found his aim too. To remove all the pains around. Wherever he would see dry sand he will water it.
